Dull Skin

From the age of thirty, cell turnover starts to slow down which leads to a buildup of dead skin, and it doesn't always slow at the same pace across your face so you end up with patches of dead skin in some areas, causing your complexion to be dull, uneven, and rough. Ageing skin is associated with a range of cosmetic concerns. The development of dry, dull skin also is common, adding to an overall lackluster appearance. With ageing, the surface of the skin tends to have a "sallow" appearance- that is, dry, with a slight yellow tinge, which results from a slowdown from the metabolic process yielding skin that does not renew frequently and looks "sluggish".
Exfoliation is the key to removing dead skin cells that cause your skin to look dull. To force your skin into the habit of faster cell turnover, introduce products containing ingredients such as salicylic acid, retinol, PHA s, peptides and growth factors that speed up the process into your daily regimen. One also needs to moisturise your skin on a daily basis.
In addition to dead skin, dull skin is also caused by poor diets high in fat and processed foods. To improve the look of your skin you need to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and less processed junk food.
Home therapies:
At Skin Renewal we offer traditional topical home therapies such as AHA s, PHA s, Retinol and home Dermarollers to improve a dull complexion. We are excited to introduce recent advances in collagen stimulation home therapies such as the Dermaheal range of growth factors and peptides and the Luminesce brightening range all from Lamelle Research laboratories.
Luminesce uses groundbreaking peptide technology (Oligopeptide 34) for brightening a dull complexion and has recently added 3 new peptides to the program which offers excellent results in combating epidermal and post inflammatory hyper- pigmentation ( PIH). An added benefit is that the combination of peptides used in the range offers anti-ageing benefits to the skin as they stimulate collagen producing cells. Luminesce used twice daily for 8 weeks will reduce the appearance of pigmentation and brighten the complexion and is safe for use on all skin types unlike traditional skin brightening cosmeceutical products as well as prescription medications. These traditional products can cause hypersensitive skin, which in turn aggravates the problem.
In office treatments:
provide the quickest and most effective route to brightening up a dull complexion. At Skin Renewal we offer cutting edge technologies such as transdermal mesotherapy treatments, Pearl™ laser rejuvenation, Limelight ™ and Carboxytherapy to instantly brighten up a dull complexion. As each patient's case is different we will tailor a treatment program specifically for you and your circumstances. A highly professional team led by a medical doctor assesses every patient and an appropriate combination treatment together with long term maintenance program is recommended.
Skin Renewal Tip:
Unfortunately a stunning "Hollywood" face and skin has not been handed out by nature - it has to be bought and this usually comes at an expensive price. No matter how great your skin is at 25, the inevitable age spots, pigmentation marks, red blemishes and sagging will slowly leave their marks on one's face by the time one reaches 35. Our signature treatment at Skin Renewal, 3 D Skin Rejuvenation™, is one of the most effective non ablative skin rejuvenation solutions available and involves combining three clinical applications viz. Titan, Photo Genesis and Laser Genesis. Separately each clinical application presents a powerful solution for the most in demand, fastest growing procedures with no downtime. At Skin Renewal 3 D Skin Rejuvenation™ by Cutera is combined with a Radiofrequency procedure, Microdermabrasion, and Transdermal Mesotherapy with Growth Factors for enhanced results and a brighter complexion.
