What is a Yellow Peel?
This is an advanced medical peel using the combined treatment of Beta Peel and Trichloroacetic Acid and retinoic acid to produce a medium depth peel.
Who would benefit from a Yellow peel?
This peel can be used for all skin types and treats post inflammatory pigmentation, uneven texture and poikiloderma of civatte, hormonal pigmentation and acne.
When should one start with this peel?
One would begin this treatment if normal treatments (such as facials and milder peels) are not producing the desired results
What preparation is needed before starting?
The Yellow peel is a prescription peel and one would need to have a consultation with one of our doctors. Patients would need to prepare their skin with an appropriate skin care regime recommended by their doctor.
One would need to stop using all products containing Retinol and Vitamin A -3 days prior to the treatment as well as Roaccutaine for at least 6 months prior to the treatment. Avoid sun exposure for 14 days prior to the treatment.
What results can be expected?
One would have a smoother skin with the appearance of Pigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles reduced.
What to expect after the peel / treatment?
One would experience 3 to 4 days of moderate ‘social’ downtime. Pigmentation often darkens before it gets better- this is a normal reaction. This deeper exfoliation produces noticeable flaking in the following 3-4 days after the peel (during downtime)
Avoid all sun exposure for 14 days following a peel- even when indoors.
Please note that all exfoliation treatments make your skin more sensitive to the sun thus a sunscreen of SPF# 30 should be used daily, and sun exposure avoided
