At Skin Renewal, we approach pulsed light treatments with caution to ensure the safety of our patients. If you've had sun exposure three weeks before your appointment, there's a risk of burns, and your treatment will need to be rescheduled. Please let your therapist know if the area to be treated has been exposed to the sun during this period.

Always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen outdoors, especially during the ten days following a Limelight procedure, to minimise the risk of sun damage. Also, avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks after treatment. If you are undergoing treatment for pigmentation, using high-quality topical pigmentation inhibitors before and during your treatment plan is essential. Continuing these products as part of your skincare routine will help maintain your results.

Limelight™ treatments are not suitable for individuals with darker skin tones (skin types 5 and 6). Additionally, the procedure may be rescheduled if the treatment area has been exposed to the sun or has had instant tan products applied within the past three weeks.

After undergoing the Limelight™ treatment, applying broad-spectrum sunscreen is crucial to protect against new sun damage and the formation of new brown spots or redness. With proper care, the benefits of this treatment can last, providing a noticeable improvement in skin tone and texture.

A typical Cutera Limelight™ session lasts less than one hour, and results can often be seen after four to six treatments. Immediately after treatment, you may notice some darkening of brown spots and slight redness or swelling. These effects generally subside within a few hours, though they can last longer. The darkened spots will naturally flake off within one to three weeks, leaving the skin smoother and more even-toned.
