Dr Merle Williams

Dr Merle Williams is a general practitioner with a special interest in aesthetic and integrative medicine. She obtained her MBCHB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2005. She then completed her internship and community service in Cape Town and Kimberley before settling down in Johannesburg.

Aesthetic medicine may be described as an art form. Dr Merle is a medical practitioner who reminisces about her childhood dreams of being an animator for Walt Disney when she grew up. Dr Williams ‘I’ve always had an affinity for art and sketching. These days I have traded putting pencil to paper for putting needle to the bone’.

Practising out of the Skin Renewal Durban, Umhlanga, and Ballito branches, Dr Merle completed her level one aesthetic trading with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) and the Integrative Medicine Bootcamp with The Golding Institute before relocating to her hometown of Durban.

A master at transferring her artistic talent from paper to person Dr Merle joined The Renewal Institute in 2017 and underwent an intensive three month in house training program which included the opportunity to shadow Dr Maureen Allem and many Skin Renewal doctors.

Dr Merle regularly attends non-surgical, anti-ageing congresses and workshops and is a member of AAMSA (The Aesthetic & Anti-Ageing Medicine Society of South Africa).
