How does the PPx™ Pore Cleansing acne treatment™ work?

Small pieces of skin in the area being targeted are "sucked up", which brings the acne lesion closer to the skin's surface. Thus, it is easier for the light energy to pass through the skin to target the required areas, so less energy is needed and greater efficiency is obtained.

The combination of vacuum suction and light targets the acne lesion. The vacuum the elevates the sebaceous gland inverts it and opens it up, emptying its contents. This helps remove dirt, blackheads, and excessive oil from deep within the pores

In addition, the negative pressure lifts the sebaceous gland bringing it closer to the skins surface. The broadband light source helps to destroy acne causing bacteria.

What are contra indications for the PPx™ Pore Cleansing acne treatment ™?

If you are pregnant, have been on Roccutane within 3 months, or have an active cold sore you should not have this procedure.

If you are taking aspirin or blood thinners, you may experience some bruising that can take up to 2 weeks to resolve.

If you are tanned or have recently been exposed to the sun in the area you are having treated, you may be more susceptible to potential side effects such as blisters or crusts and/or your treatment may need to be reduced in intensity or postponed until the tan fades.
