Dr Shahra Sattar

Skin Renewal's very own 'Needle Ninja', Dr Shahra Sattar, loves to help patients feel confident about themselves through the vehicle of aesthetic treatments.

A highly skilled medical doctor, Dr Shahra graduated from UCT with her medical degree, but the years that followed were the most impressive. A recipient of the coveted Fogarty International Scholarship, Dr Shahra attended the prestigious Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in the USA. She also obtained a master's degree in public health from the University of Cape Town in 2013. Her lifelong love for learning continued after that, and she has also accumulated postgraduate diplomas in occupational medicine, HIV management and, most recently, graduated cum laude with an advanced diploma in aesthetic medicine 

Chatting to Dr Shahra, she explained, 'I draw on all previous knowledge and experience which I have gained in my medical career to offer aesthetic patients the best service and journey'. When asked what her favourite procedure is, she responded that she enjoys all aesthetic procedures but that combining her artistic eye with her medical and technical skills to enhance each patient's unique beauty is what she loves most of all.

Dr Shahra joined Skin Renewal in 2014 and entered into an intensive in-house training program, which included shadowing Skin Renewal Founder Dr Maureen Allem to learn about the intricacies of injectables and aesthetic medicine. A passionate student, Dr Shahra enjoys the monthly doctors' meetings and the meeting of minds, in addition to regularly attending non-surgical anti-ageing congresses and workshops. She is also a member of AAMSA (The Aesthetic & Anti-Ageing Medicine Society of South Africa).

Dr Shahra's passion for life is infectious. In addition to being an accomplished medical doctor, she is also a professional tribal fusion dancer who performs with a dance troupe called Soma. Dr Shahra brings her festive flair to all she touches, including her poetry, dancing, motherhood, and medical aesthetics.

She is based in Cape Town and operates from Skin Renewal's Claremont, Constantia, Cape Quarter and Century City clinics.
