Skin Renewal CSI

'May we be reminded of the blessings our lives are filled with, understanding that the very things we take for granted, someone, somewhere is praying for'. The Merchants of Light

At Skin Renewal, our commitment to Corporate Social Investment (CSI) is woven into the very fabric of our ethos. For over 20 years, we have embraced the responsibility of giving back to the communities we serve, partnering with multiple charities that align with our values. We believe that true beauty extends beyond aesthetics; it encompasses compassion, support, and a commitment to uplift those in need.

Over the years, we have supported a multitude of charities working with animals, children and those without homes. We have worked with organisations that assist persons living with AIDS and cancer, as well as victims of rape and crime, and we have been involved in sustainable and environmental efforts.

More recently, we have shone the light on women and worked with organisations that empower and educate women in underserved communities. One notable project is our support of ILoveBoobies, which raises awareness about breast cancer and provides critical screenings for women in underserved areas. We also support Komani, which provides reusable sanitary pads to women, ensuring that women not only feel empowered but also confident and supported. Both organisations not only empower but also educate women, which we believe truly aligns with the essence of Skin Renewal, as knowledge is the foundation for making meaningful and sustainable change.

We feel blessed to have a voice in the digital space and to be able to educate our patients and followers on pertinent issues, while also supporting charities in highlighting their work. Each Skin Renewal branch is also a space where we can assist our chosen charities in collecting much-needed items and provide a platform for patients who wish to dedicate more time to each project.

In addition to the work we do for women, we collaborate closely with the Merchants of Light to bring about change. Addressing daily humanitarian challenges and pouring light into the darkest corners of forgotten communities.

Join us in our mission to make a difference. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and support that extends far beyond our branches. Let’s work together to build a brighter future for everyone.

ILoveBoobies

Skin Renewal proudly supports ILoveBoobies by raising awareness about the charity’s mission and selling ILoveBoobies socks at all Skin Renewal branches. In addition to ongoing in-store support, Skin Renewal is actively involved in South Africa’s biggest virtual sports event each August, amplifying breast cancer awareness across the country.

Komani

Every young woman deserves the confidence to pursue her dreams without the interruption of unmet basic needs. Yet for too many girls in South Africa, the monthly barrier of period poverty forces them to miss school, shy away from community life, and lose a sense of dignity. By championing sustainable menstrual health solutions and education, Skin Renewal proudly partners with Komani, a trailblazing social enterprise dedicated to breaking this cycle. Through affordable, reusable pads and vital health training, we are not only keeping girls in the classroom but also igniting hope, reducing environmental waste, and fostering economic opportunity. Read on to discover how our collaboration is transforming lives through sustainable menstrual health.

Khulisa Social Solutions

For many years, Skin Renewal has supported Khulisa through the Kliptown community outreach program by collaborating on holistic development initiatives that empower vulnerable youth and families, helping build resilient skills and sustainable futures within marginalised communities. The Skin Renewal team has assisted in setting up a vegetable garden that feeds over 15 families, in addition to facilitating the first second-hand clothing shop and the very first community library.

Over and above this, Skin Renewal CEO Victor Snyders is a passionate soccer (football) fan. It supports the Kliptown community soccer team with their needs, from kits to tournament entry fees.

Khulisa's Streetscapes Project

Skin Renewal works closely with Streetscapes, a Cape Town-based non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness by providing meaningful job opportunities and holistic support to individuals living on the streets. Through initiatives like inner-city urban gardens, Streetscapes empowers the homeless by offering work, psychosocial support, and pathways to stable housing. Skin Renewal actively supports these programs, helping transform lives and foster dignity and independence among vulnerable communities in the city.

Ark Animal Centre

In 2016, Skin Renewal supported Ark Animal Centre, a Gauteng shelter focused on rehabilitating and re-homing puppies and adult dogs with a “no suffer” policy. Ark swiftly homed 100 dogs in 100 days. The partnership funded a crucial Isolation Unit and promoted ethical adoptions, raising awareness and inspiring lasting compassion for animals across South Africa.

Husky Rescue

In 2016, our KwaZulu-Natal Charity Drive proudly supported Husky Rescue KZN, a loving sanctuary in Cato Ridge dedicated to giving Huskies a fresh start. With hopes of one day offering animal-assisted therapy for emotional healing, the centre’s mission is clear: to find caring families for these energetic companions. Skin Renewal staff united our community in a Fun Run/Walk, raising funds for shelter, care, and hope.

Pink Drive (with ILoveBoobies)

In South Africa, many women still face late breast cancer diagnoses. PinkDrive answers this challenge by bringing education and screening directly to hard-to-reach communities with mobile mammography units and bright pink education trucks. From rural villages to busy clinics and corporate campuses, they provide lifesaving awareness and access to care. Since 2010, Skin Renewal has proudly supported PinkDrive, rallying communities to fund screenings, educate, and honour survivors - helping save more lives through early detection.

James & Ethel Gray Park – Spring Clean-Up Day

Nestled in Birdhaven, James and Ethel Gray Park suffered from litter and dumping. In 2015, Skin Renewal teams, alongside families and partners, restored this green space by removing 200 bags of rubbish, planting 55 indigenous trees, and fostering stewardship to preserve the park as a safe, vibrant community refuge.

Reach for Your Slippers

Where serious illness steals childhood moments, Reach for a Dream brings hope, turning wishes into cherished memories. Through ongoing fundraising initiatives, such as Reach for Your Slippers Day, this foundation uplifts children and families. Skin Renewal clinics proudly support the cause - raising funds, wearing slippers with hearts, and helping dreams take flight.

Christine Revell Children’s Home

Located in Athlone, Christine Revell Children’s Home provides 24/7 care for babies and young children from birth to five, placed by the children’s court due to neglect, abuse, or abandonment. It offers a loving, inclusive environment focused on stability, family reunification, or foster care, supported by community efforts. In 2014, our Skin Renewal team rallied behind this mission, lending hands, hearts, and practical upgrades to help ensure that every small voice is heard, every bedtime is gentler, and every tomorrow feels a little brighter.

Rape Crisis Centre (Karl Bremer Hospital)

At Karl Bremer Hospital’s Rape Crisis Centre, survivors find a sanctuary of compassion and safety in their darkest moments. Through trauma-informed care, soothing spaces, and dedicated support, we honour their courage. Enhanced by community partners, the centre provides comfort, privacy, and expert counselling - helping survivors take their first step toward healing. Skin Renewal staff in the Western Cape partnered with devoted sponsors to refresh the environment with soothing pastel tones, better ventilation, durable storage, quality linens, and care-package essentials, while also investing in counselling training for volunteers.

Cart Horse Protection Association (CHPA)

In Cape Town, where working horses carry the history of District Six and the Cape Flats, the Cart Horse Protection Association (CHPA) is their unwavering guardian. Since 1995, CHPA rescues, heals, and cares for these hardworking creatures - offering farrier services, harness repairs, and community education. Skin Renewal assisted their Somerset West team in transforming stables and gardens, equipping farriers with vital tools to protect hooves and hearts alike, championing dignity and compassion for every cart horse.

Twilight Children

Twilight Children in inner-city Johannesburg offers a compassionate haven for vulnerable youth, promoting skin renewal and holistic healing. Beyond shelter, it provides education, skills training, mentorship, and HIV/AIDS awareness, guiding children toward family reunification and thriving futures with care, respect, and practical support. In 2012, our Gauteng teams joined hands with this remarkable centre, contributing time, resources, and respect for the resilience of every young person who walks through its doors.

SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge

Each year, the SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge turns Randburg into a sea of pink purpose—celebrating women, wellness, and community while channelling vital support to Reach for Recovery during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Elite athletes may lead the pack, but the day truly belongs to thousands of women and girls who lace up for joy, solidarity and a cause that touches every family. Our Johannesburg Skin Renewal team joined the 2011 event with big smiles and even bigger hearts - walking not for podiums, but for connection, courage, and the lifesaving message that early detection changes everything.

NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity)

Amid South Africa’s stark reality of parentless households, NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity) offers a steady harbour—community-based “Arks” where vulnerable children find safety, nourishment, learning, and the gentle structure that builds resilient adults. Established in 2000, NOAH couples heart with hard-headed governance, partnering with schools, clinics, and local leaders to deliver reliable care, counselling, and education close to where children live. Our partnership began at Phomelelo Ark in Muldersdrift, where practical upgrades and hands-on support helped transform a modest day-care into a dignified, child-centred space. Together, we champion a simple promise: every child deserves stability, opportunity, and the chance to grow up whole.

Children of Fire

Born from one child’s courage, Children of Fire was founded by Bronwen Jones to help burn survivors like Dorah Mokoena rebuild their lives. The organisation offers reconstructive care, psychological support, education, and fire prevention across Africa. Together with Skin Renewal’s laser treatments, they restore dignity and hope, helping survivors embrace their future with renewed confidence.

Co-Sanc Cat Shelter & Animal Adoption Centre

Nestled in Nooitgedacht’s countryside, CO-SANC is a kind, no-kill sanctuary where science meets compassion. Run by a veterinary clinic and animal charities, each cat undergoes a thorough vet-led quarantine before joining. Adoptions are ethical, including sterilisation, vaccination, microchipping, and a lifelong return promise. Staffed mainly by volunteers, donations directly support care. Dogs and other rescues visit at weekends, offering hopeful connections. In December 2009, our Skin Renewal team helped build and paint a new puppy run. It delivered armfuls of towels—small, practical acts that echo CO-SANC’s belief: when care is meticulous. Hearts are open, second chances flourish
