So how does carboxytherapy improve hair loss and stimulate hair follicles to start producing hair again? At Skin Renewal, we combine doctor-led care, cutting-edge technology and a holistic approach to deliver personalised solutions that truly transform your skin. Just what you need, right now. So when you inject carbon dioxide into the scalp area, you're immediately increasing oxygen because oxygen is released by the carbon dioxide.
You also decrease inflammation in the area because carbon dioxide, once injected into the skin, can decrease inflammatory cytokines that contribute to hair loss. And then by injecting the carbon dioxide, you also increase the anagen phase, which is the growing phase of the hair follicle. So you have the telogen phase, where the hair starts falling out, and then you get the anagen phase, where the hair actually starts its growth cycle.
So carboxytherapy activates that hair growth cycle. And very important, especially when you get female hair loss on the temples, which is androgenic alopecia, by injecting carbon dioxide into the area, you're also decreasing that very powerful male testosterone called DHT. It's not really the testosterone that causes hair loss; it's the conversion to that powerful androgen, DHT, that causes the hair loss.
And carboxytherapy, when you inject it into the area, actually modulates the conversion of testosterone to DHT, dihydrotestosterone. So it takes time to actually see a difference. You have to come every week or every two weeks, biweekly, just to have a treatment.
You may need eight to 12 treatments to see improved hair growth. And we know that anything that increases circulation to the area- and we know that's exactly what carbon dioxide, when injected into the skin, does- increases that growth factor that increases circulation. And we know that any increased circulation is going to stimulate those hair follicles to grow.
So carboxy is great in women over 40 who notice that they're slowly starting to lose their hair, or if you've had like sudden weight loss from being on a GLP-1 peptide and you're losing the weight, but you also find that you start losing your hair, you can do something to improve your hair growth and not let it get to a stage where your hair is really thin. And why do women in perimenopause or pre-menopause start losing hair? It's because there's less estrogen production from the ovaries, and because there's less estrogen, the hormone-binding globulin that traps the estrogen - it's called sex hormone-binding globulin. It actually carries all the hormones that slowly start decreasing with time.
And because it's decreasing, because there's less estrogen, it also releases a lot of testosterone. And it's the testosterone, when it converts to dihydrotestosterone, that very powerful androgen is what starts causing the hair loss. So we need to do something before you really start thinning.
And you know, our hair is our crowning glory. So don't let it get to a stage where you can actually start seeing your scalp through your hair loss. You know, do carboxytherapy.
It's quick, easy, and a very natural process that stimulates your hair follicles to start producing hair and counteracts the effects of the very powerful androgen dihydrotestosterone.
