Mesotherapy for Hair Loss

Hair thinning and hair loss can feel deeply personal, often affecting confidence long before it becomes visibly apparent to others. Whether you’ve noticed increased shedding, a widening parting or a gradual loss of volume, understanding that hair loss is a medical and biological process, not simply a cosmetic concern, is the first step towards effective treatment. Mesotherapy for hair loss offers a targeted, regenerative approach that works at the scalp and hair follicle levels, helping create an optimal environment for healthier, stronger hair growth. At Skin Renewal, this treatment forms part of a personalised, doctor-led strategy designed to address the root causes of hair loss while supporting long-term scalp and follicle health.

Mesotherapy for hair loss is a regenerative, minimally invasive treatment designed to improve scalp health, stimulate dormant hair follicles and support thicker, healthier hair growth. By delivering biologically active substances directly into the scalp, mesotherapy targets the hair follicle environment at a cellular level, where hair growth begins.

At Skin Renewal, mesotherapy for hair loss includes Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), advanced autologous treatments that harness your body’s own healing and growth factors to support long-term hair restoration as part of a personalised treatment programme.

How Mesotherapy Supports Hair Growth

Hair follicles rely on a healthy scalp environment, adequate blood supply and cellular signalling to maintain the growth phase of the hair cycle. In androgenetic (pattern) hair loss, follicles gradually miniaturise, leading to thinner, weaker hairs and eventual hair loss. Mesotherapy helps by:

  • Delivering growth factors directly to the follicle level.
  • Improving scalp microcirculation.
  • Supporting follicle metabolism and stem cell activity.
  • Reducing inflammation around hair follicles.

While mesotherapy is not a stand-alone cure for hair loss, it can significantly improve hair density, thickness and shedding when combined with medical therapies and lifestyle optimisation.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Hair Loss

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is created from a small sample of your own blood, which is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate platelets rich in growth factors such as PDGF, VEGF and IGF-1. These growth factors are then injected into areas of scalp thinning.

Benefits of PRP

  • Stimulates dormant or weakened hair follicles
  • Improves blood flow to the scalp
  • Increases hair density and thickness
  • Reduces excessive hair shedding
  • Uses your own cells, with a strong safety profile

Clinical studies and meta-analyses show that PRP can significantly improve hair density and slow progression of androgenetic alopecia, with minimal downtime and mild, short-lived side effects such as tenderness or temporary swelling.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) for Hair Loss

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is an advanced evolution of PRP. It is prepared without anticoagulants and processed at lower centrifuge speeds, resulting in a fibrin matrix rich in platelets, white blood cells and circulating stem cells.

This fibrin scaffold allows for the slow, sustained release of growth factors such as PDGF, TGF-β and VEGF, prolonging stimulation of the hair follicle environment.

Benefits of PRF

  • Longer-lasting growth factor release
  • Enhanced regenerative signalling
  • Completely natural and additive-free
  • Particularly useful when PRP results plateau

Early clinical evidence and case series show promising improvements in hair density and thickness, especially when PRF is combined with microneedling or medical hair-loss treatments.

Mesotherapy with Growth Factors

Lamelle SRS (Skin Regeneration System) Growth Factors are clinically formulated bio-signals designed to stimulate cellular repair and regeneration within the hair follicle environment. When used as part of a mesotherapy programme, these growth factors help to support follicle activity, strengthen existing hairs and improve scalp vitality.

Benefits of Mesotherapy with Growth Factors

  • In early-stage thinning or diffuse hair loss
  • When injectable treatments are not yet indicated
  • As a supportive treatment alongside PRP or PRF
  • To maintain results between injectable sessions

This option provides a targeted, science-led approach for patients seeking effective follicle stimulation with minimal invasiveness.

Transdermal Mesotherapy for Hair Loss

Transdermal mesotherapy offers a non-injectable alternative for delivering active hair-growth ingredients directly into the scalp. Using advanced technologies, micro-channels are created within the scalp to enhance the penetration of specialised hair serums, including Lamelle SRS or MCCM Hair Growth Serums. This method allows biologically active ingredients to reach the follicle environment without needles.

Benefits of Transdermal Mesotherapy

  • Patients are sensitive to injections
  • Early intervention in hair thinning
  • Ongoing maintenance between injectable treatments
  • Supporting scalp health and circulation

Transdermal mesotherapy can be safely combined with PRP, PRF, microneedling or medical hair-loss therapies to enhance outcomes as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Mesotherapy as Part of a Comprehensive Hair Loss Programme

PRP and PRF work best when combined with:

  • Medical treatments such as minoxidil or finasteride
  • Microneedling or low-level laser therapy
  • Nutritional and hormonal optimisation
  • Stress and lifestyle management

This integrated approach delivers more predictable, longer-lasting results.

Is Mesotherapy for Hair Loss Right for You?

Mesotherapy is most effective in:

  • Early to moderate androgenetic alopecia
  • Diffuse thinning
  • Hair shedding with reduced density

A medical consultation is a vital first step in any effective hair restoration journey. At Skin Renewal, hair loss is never treated as a one-size-fits-all concern. Our medical doctors take the time to understand your individual pattern of hair loss, scalp health, medical history, hormonal influences and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to thinning or shedding.

Through careful assessment and, where appropriate, targeted investigations, we can identify the underlying drivers of hair loss and determine whether mesotherapy is the most suitable option. This personalised, evidence-based approach ensures that each treatment plan is tailored not only to stimulate hair growth but also to support long-term scalp health, follicle vitality, and sustainable results, reflecting Skin Renewal’s commitment to treating the cause, not just the symptom.

frequently asked
questions

Is mesotherapy for hair loss available at all Skin Renewal clinics?
Is mesotherapy for hair loss suitable for both men and women?

Yes. Mesotherapy, including PRP and PRF, is suitable for both men and women experiencing hair thinning or hair loss. While androgenetic hair loss presents differently between genders, the underlying follicle miniaturisation and scalp changes can be effectively addressed in both, provided treatment is initiated at the appropriate stage.

When will you start seeing results after mesotherapy treatments?

Hair growth is a slow biological process, so improvements are gradual. Most patients begin to notice reduced shedding and improved hair texture within a few months, with visible density changes becoming more apparent between three and six months as follicles re-enter the growth phase.

Does mesotherapy work if you already have advanced hair loss?

Mesotherapy is most effective when some viable hair follicles remain. In advanced hair loss where follicles have been inactive for a prolonged period, results may be limited. A medical consultation is essential to assess follicle activity and determine whether mesotherapy is appropriate or whether alternative or supportive treatments should be considered.

Is mesotherapy painful or does it require downtime?

Discomfort is generally mild and well-tolerated. The scalp may feel tender immediately after treatment, but most patients return to normal activities the same day. There is minimal downtime, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.

Can mesotherapy be used alongside hair transplants or other aesthetic treatments?

Yes. Mesotherapy is often used to support and enhance hair transplant results by improving scalp health and follicle recovery. It can also be safely combined with other non-surgical hair restoration therapies as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Great service before and during the PRP hair treatment. The staff are really helpful in accommodating me on the dates and times that would work for me as I come from abroad. Once the staff also gave me an earlier appointment so I could catch my flight back. The doctor and therapists are very friendly and professional. Although the treatment is painful they do their best to minimise it by providing breaks and massaging the numbing solution effectively. Been for the treatment 4 times and have no complaints. Thanks Dr Nadira, Neo, Bianca and the rest of the Skin Renewal Waterfall team, the results just show how great a job you have done.
